It is rare to find Kareena Kapoor in a saree other than her favourite designer Manish Malhotra’s sarees. Recently at a promotion meet in Bhopal Kareena was spotted wearing a beautiful black Chanderi saree. Like her in the beautiful saree?
Aamir recently gifted a Rs. 25, 000 handloom saree to Kareena Kapoor made by handloom workers of Chanderi village in Madhya Pradesh. Kareena was overwhelmed by the present.
Kareena was asked to fly down to Madhya Pradesh for two days. She had to travel for 14 hours to reach Chanderi. All this while, she didn’t know where they were going and all she knew was that they had to meet Aamir. So when she received the black and gold traditional saree, like the ones the weavers used to make for the nawabs, she was overjoyed.
According to Kareena, Aamir Khan wanted her to have the saree because she is a style icon and she should promote the work of these handloom industries. The ancestors of the workers used to work for royal families. Kareena and Aamir went to the workers’ homes, interacted with them and saw that they live in miserable conditions and make only about Rs. 50 while the designers borrow their work and sell it for Rs. 30-40,000. Aamir has invited some of the workers to the premiere of 3 Idiots.

Kareena Kapoor’s Kurbaan Posters. Kareena Kapoor (Bebo) goes back less for upcoming movie Kurbaan. Kurbaan is a forthcoming Indian Bollywood film directed by Rensil D’Silva and produced by Karan Johar. The film, will feature Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor in pivotal roles along with actor Vivek Oberoi and Dia Mirza(?). Name of the movie keeps changing at finally they selected Kurbaan as the title. Kareena Kapoor looks hot from first look but , I feel its going on track as Tashan if its true then alarm for Kareena as Tashan was biggest flops of last year. They eat together, drink together, live together and earn together seems to be just apt for the much in love Saif and Kareena or ‘Saifeena’ as they are popularly known.
The couple’s easy camaraderie is warming up many TV screens these days and is expected to continue at least for a while. Most celebrities today are open about their love lives and they also seem to be cashing in on it by appearing together and adding that extra zing to their brand value. Same goes for Saifeena, for the couple is making big bucks by commanding a throbbing price of Rs 6 crore for a single endorsement.
According to reports, out of the Rs 6 crore, Rs 2.5 is for Kareena and Rs 3.5 for Saif. Insiders suggest that since Indians love romance, these two command tremendous appeal Kareena herself is surprised by the response that she and Saif have been getting for their common endorsements. "I am glad that it is working for both of us. What more can one ask for?" says the actress.
Considering the fact that this hot jodi is always in demand, the duo is minting gold for a natural camaraderie.
After mesmering people with her size zero figure, Kareena Kapoor is now all set to share her fitness mantra by writing a foreword for Rujuta Diwekar’s Don't Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight.
Kareena writes about being taught “to eat well, eat right and eat regularly. She also mentions that her fitness is the result of “70% diet and 30% exercise-training and yoga."
Kareena also mentions how her diet is customised to her requirements and how every meal is planned in accordance to the level of activity of any given day.
“In Mumbai, my breakfast is muesli and milk or a chillah or parathas; no chai or coffee. While shooting for Tashan in Ladakh, I ate fresh fruit for breakfast and thukpas and momos for my other meals. I had pudina tea without milk."
Kareena also emphasises how Rujuta focuses on nutrition and not calories.
"I make sure I eat every two hours. My evening snack or meal is soy milk or a sandwich. Rujuta focuses on nutrition, not calories. Amazingly, she likes to keep the nutritional value of what you eat, as compared to the calories consumed, high."
Kareena also mentions how she learnt about being smart about food and yet enjoyed it.
"I have learnt what she means when she says, 'be smart about food' and still enjoy what you eat. Now thanks to this book, you can (learn) too and I am sure you will find it good enough to eat."
It is a rare instance when a swimmer gets afraid of water. However, such an incident took place when Kareena Kapoor stalled shoot of a sequence of the under production movie Kambakht Ishq for over six hours.
Kareena was to shoot an underwater sequence at a sports club in Mumbai for the Sajid Nadiadwala production. However; she walked out of the water in a few moments after entering it.
It was only after some production hands asked her for the reason that Kareena confessed of being scared of water. Director Sabeer Khan, then, ordered the water level to be reduced.
Kareena's co-star Akshay Kumar, too, helped her by advising her about the easiest way to execute the sequence. However, everyone at the set was surprised at Kareena's behavior since she had already shot for most of the sequence during the films schedule in Italy.

2009 is a special year for Rensil D’Silva as he takes the big leap from writing to direction. By now it’s known to one and all, that Rensil would be making his directorial debut with the Saif-Kareena-Vivek Oberoi starrer to be produced under the banner of Dharma Productions.
The buzz in the media circles is that the intense film is titled Jihaad but Rensil denied this rumor. "No…my film is not called Jihaad. It’s a name that the media seems to have given the film but it’s not the official title", says Rensil
Probe him a little bit on what the film is about and Rensil says, "It’s a romantic thriller set against the backdrop of global terrorism."
There is a strong buzz that Saif and Kareena are playing terrorists in the film but the director is not ready to reveal much. "I can’t reveal plot points or character sketches at this point of time", says the writer turned director, who doesn’t deny the news.
Apart from Saif, Kareena and Vivek Oberoi the film was supposed to star Tara Sharma. However, the actress is due to have her first baby soon and hence had to back out of the project. Minissha Lamba would now be essaying that part. The supporting cast also includes Kirron Kher, Om Puri and some talented new faces.
So, how much of the film’s shoot is complete at this stage? "We are around 40% through with filming. We’ve shot in Philadelphia, Delhi and the Mumbai schedule is currently underway. We plan to complete shooting by May and will release the film in the last quarter of 2009," says Rensil.
While the story of the film has been written by Karan Johar, Rensil has worked on the screenplay of the film. An interesting fact however is that instead of Dharma favorites Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, this time it would be Salim-Sulaiman who would be composing music for this film.

Now there’s a buzz that a sequel to ‘Race’ is coming up.
Now ‘Race’ wasn’t such a well appreciated film but it did well at the box office. Rumour has it that the directors Abbas-Mastan and the lead heroes are all very eager to come out with its sequel. The movie will be called ‘Race 2′ and Tips will be producing the sequel too.
Saif Ali Khan is likely to be a part of the film while it’s not known whether Anil Kapoor and Akshaye Khanna will be a part of the sequel or not.
Katrina Kaif and Bipasha were the heroines of the movie and Sameera Reddy played a sidey character. But now only Kareena has been signed as a heroine.
Reports suggest that Kareena will be playing Saif’s love interest the film too. Though there’s a requirement for another heroine nothing is clear as yet. So we don’t know whether Katrina and Bips will be back or not.
As it is, Katrina’s character along with Akshaye had died in the first ‘Race’. So their return seems unlikely.
Now Katrina Kaif wanted to give some competition to Kareena by advertising her multi crore deals just for the sake of it. And the war between Bebo ad Bips was very old until they said they are okay with each other sometime back.

Kareena's new figure has earned her both praise and criticism. On the one hand, the actress has been credited with promoting a healthy lifestyle and the benefits of yoga; on the other, she has been termed anorexic.
"I think I am not size zero; at least I look better than that. I believe in the power of yoga and swear by it," she said.
Kareena, who was here for the launch of a 'Beauty Adviser Training Programme' by Anne French, believes that her good figure and glowing skin can be attributed to the fact that she "drinks lots of water and is a hard-core veggie".
The Jab We Met star is considered a youth icon. "I identify myself with the youth of this country. It is a responsibility if I am considered a youth icon," she said.
Kareena starts her day with "60 surya namaskars for half an hour" and believes yoga is a way of life. "If I don't do yoga for a day, I feel something is amiss," she said. "I don't believe in slogging out in a gym or running on a treadmill because gyms are full of ACs. One hour of yoga is enough.
"People are bored of me," she continued, referring to her vegetarianism. "I am continuously asking them to stop taking meat and protect our animals."
The star, who has a slew of releases lined up in 2009, is excited about working with Aamir Khan in Raju Hirani's 3 Idiots. "Till now we have completed only one schedule, but I feel lucky and blessed to be working with Aamir. He and Raju Hirani are a fiery combination," she said.
Kareena is equally excited about Sajid Nadiadwala's Kambakht Ishq where she teams up with Akshay Kumar. The film was in the news for featuring some Hollywood stars like Sylvester Stallone and Denise Richards.
"The Hollywood stars have acted in only one scene," Kareena said when asked how it was to work with them. "The film is more than that."
But the actress is happy that Hollywood is gradually opening up to the Hindi film industry. "We have Danny Boyle and Denise Richards coming to the film industry. I think now we will wait for Brad Pitt to come," she joked.
The actress, who is currently in love with divorced actor Saif Ali Khan, said she would be busy shooting on Valentine's Day. "I don't believe in the concept of Valentine's Day," Kareena said. "Those who want to celebrated may celebrate, or otherwise sleep in their homes."
Asked when she would tie the knot, she said, "I have no plans to marry for at least 5 years. Currently, I am very busy with my work."
The actress refused to comment on her reported cold vibes with contemporary Katrina Kaif.
On her item number Marjania with Shah Rukh Khan for the film Billu Barber, which is ruling the music charts, Kareena said, "I am happy Marjania is such a big hit. I had worked with Shah Rukh in Don for the song Ye mera dil. I think people like us more in songs than in films."
The two love birds can’t seem to get enough of each other, so much so that even snow and storm cannot keep them apart. With Kareena to be in Ladakh for the shoot of Rajkumar Hirani’s film ‘3 Idiots’ with ‘Aamir Khan’, Saif Ali Khan had plaaned to surprise his lady love, but then due to bad weather all flights to Leh were canceled. Not the one to throw his hand up, Chhote Nawab flew to Srinagar, hoping to hit the road from thereon. One the other end, with the shoot cancelled, Bebo, too, traveled by road to meet Saif somewhere midway.
Finally, the lovers met at a lodge in Kargil, where Saif managed to make the birthday memorable for Bebo with a small party in the evening and an adorable cake.
